Earlier this week, a handful of individuals protesting against Giga Berlin broke into a Tesla store located in the center of Berlin. It would appear that the excessive levels of water use at Giga Berlin were the impetus for the protest.
It would appear that another cause was the clear-cutting of a nearby woodland in order to make way for Giga Berlin.
Paint bombs were thrown at the store’s facade by protesters, and anti-Tesla sentiments were posted on posters that were adhered to the store’s walls. One of the posters had the words “Driving For A Dead Earth” written on it. This was a dig at the environmental impact of manufacturing lithium-ion battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
Demonstrators demanded more public transit funding.
The demonstrators called for an increase in financing for public transportation. They advocated for the German government to provide “well-developed and free public transit for everyone in Berlin and Brandenburg” as an alternative to financing Tesla. Brandenburg and Berlin are both located in Germany. In addition to that, they made the following statement:
